Northwest Veterinary Clinic is looking for a FT equine associate to join our mixed animal practice. We are a long established part of the Snohomish County and Island County communities celebrating our centennial year in 2017. This position is primarily ambulatory and comes with a fully stocked 2007 Chevrolet Supercab pickup and Triple Crown unit. Interest and skills needed include lameness, internal medicine, repro, dentistry, regenerative medicine, field surgery, communication and social media. Our patients range from sport horses to miniatures, western performance to back yard pets and award winning vaulting draft horses to weekend warriors. The ideal candidate would also be experienced with or open to learning about small ruminants as well.
We have a fairly extensive complement of diagnostic equipment available which includes digital x-ray, digital ultrasound, endoscopy, in house Abxais lab equipment, and twice daily pickups for Antech reference lab. Just reently we incorporated ProStride in our practice as we expand our regenerative medicine capabilities. In addition since we are affiliated with Mount Vernon Veterinary Hospital we have access to a 3 meter gastroscope, additional rigid and flexible endoscopes, surgical suite, and an 8 stall hospital facility and AI center. For more extensive work-ups including MRI we have a large referral hospital 30 minutes away. You will also have the support and collaboration of 6 experienced equine veterinarians in our group (2 at Northwest Vet and 4 at Mount Vernon (including a board certified equine surgeon and certified acupuncturist and equine chiropracter).
We encourage participation in community activities including client education seminars, vaccination clinics, presentations to pony clubs, bowling league, Kiwanis, Rotary, etc. We also are actively engaged in social media via Facebook Twitter, and our website. Salary includes a base salary and production bonus compensation. ER fees are also included in the package.
