MSPCA-Angell Animal Medical Center is seeking an Inpatient Services Technician or Assistant for our exciting and fast paced Inpatient Services Department. The I.S. Technician/Assistant plays an essential role in the daily operations of the Inpatient Service Department by working collaboratively with veterinary and technical staff to provide overall nursing care and comfort of hospitalized patients.

To be hired as an I.S. Technician a qualified applicant must be a Certified Veterinary Technician. All other applicants would be considered for an I.S. Assistant.
Responsibilities: • Thorough working knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations. • Providing excellent care and comfort of hospitalized patients. • Executing college level math (calculations, formulations, metric conversions, etc.). • Patient restraint, administering oral and injectable medications, and assessing vital signs.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree from Veterinary Technology program or related field of study preferred. • 6 months assistant/technician experience required; Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred. • Proficient use of veterinary clinic equipment, instrumentation, general office equipment, and use of PC required. • Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods of time, and must be able to lift up to 50lbs. • Must possess exceptional customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both orally and written and have excellent time management skills. • Must be able to work alternating weekends and holidays
The Angell Animal Medical Center (AAMC) a world renown non-profit organization. Located in Boston, Massachusetts, Angell is owned by the private, nonprofit, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The AAMC is a full service 24-hour facility that employs over 300 people and cares for approximately 70,000 cases annually. We serve Boston and the greater New England area as a primary care facility, a 24- hour emergency hospital, and as a tertiary referral center. The veterinary staff is composed of 55 senior staff, 17 interns, and 13 residents.
