Are you looking for a team-based collaborative environment to work in? We are the place for you! We are seeking knowledgeable, motivated doctors who are willing to see small and/or large animals. We encourage a team dynamic while allowing our doctors to practice their own style of medicine. Experienced vets and new graduates are welcome to apply. Night/weekend emergency hours are split equally between all doctors. Competitive salary based on experience with fully-stocked work vehicle provided, two weeks paid vacation, annual CE allowance, Illinois and Wisconsin licenses, and professional dues paid.
We have an established practice, with about 50 years of history. We are about 60%/40% small and large animal. On the large animal side, we are about 90% dairy, 5% beef, 2% equine, and about 3% small ruminant/camelid. This is an agriculture and especially dairy-rich area. On the small animal side, we are about 75% canine, 24% feline, and 1% rabbit/ferret/rodent. There is a lot of room for growth and ability to specialize. We have an updated facility with an in-house lab, digital X-ray, high-speed dental unit, anesthetic monitor, haul-in chute facility, a portable chute for on-farm work, and portable ultrasounds for pregnancy diagnosis in cattle. We provide 24-hour emergency service for large animal patients but we also have the ability to send cases to nearby referral centers. We are within an hour of an emergency clinic and the University of Wisconsin Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Our emphasis is preventative care and production medicine. For small animals, we provide basic medicine and surgery, dental care, wellness panels and vaccinations. For large animal, we provide basic medicine and surgery, reproduction protocols, calf care, basic processing, and records analysis. We have a well-established client-base with opportunity to grow in this area.
Our practice is located in beautiful Northwest Illinois. We are within an hour driving distance of Rockford, IL, Madison, WI, and Dubuque, IA. There are many local breweries and wineries, as well as multiple lakes in the area and many state parks within a 30-minute drive or less. We sit right next to one of the longest biking trails in the state. The 2 closest towns of Monroe, WI (10 mi) and Freeport, IL (13 mi) offer open air music concerts in the summer and multiple car shows. In the winter, there are numerous local snowmobile trails, ski resorts within an hour’s drive, and the opportunity to join a curling team, should you be interested. There are multiple good school districts within the practice area and it is a great area for children
