Live in a beautiful, Western location surrounded by natural beauty and have a schedule flexible enough to enjoy it? Would you like to live in a mid-sized college town, a safe place for your family with a more relaxed pace of life? If these questions sparked a mid-day fantasy about a different way of practicing veterinary medicine, take a look at our hospital.
Community Animal Hospital is an AAHA accredited small animal hospital located in Pocatello, Idaho. We focus on building relationships with our patients, clients, other team members, and our community. Believing sometimes smaller is better, our tightly knit team provides excellent client service and patient care, and we participate in a wide variety of community events. Our biggest event is our annual Family Fun Day, which is a small fair that attracts over 500 people. One of our mottos is that a small, committed team can be nimble, effective and accomplish amazing things together.
We offer a full range of services with an in-house lab (Idexx), digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, tonopen, therapy lasers, regenerative medicine, computerized medical records (Cornerstone) and a crematorium. A special focus of our team is chronic pain management. Emergency call is shared with three other local clinics. We have an experienced, well-trained team that works well together and plays hard with each other. While we foster a professional, caring environment with our patients and clients, we have developed a fun and laid back (and at times mildly inappropriate) working style with each other. Our practice owner and the manager have a united vision of the practice, and strive to be accommodating about scheduling and mentorship needs. Compensation package includes a base salary plus production bonus, medical insurance stipend (we have a group plan), state licensing fees, memberships to veterinary medical organizations, CE and personal pet veterinary care.
Pocatello is a college town with an area population of 53,000. It is located about 2 hours from West Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Tetons and Salt Lake City. There are abundant hiking, climbing, skiing, paddling, cycling and hunting opportunities-- many of them minutes from the back door of the clinic. Southeastern Idaho is a beautiful location with a low cost of living. It is an excellent place to raise a family as there are many accessible, affordable, kid-friendly events and activities. We also have several off-lead dog parks, and an excellent in-city trail system for recreating with your canine buddies.
