Looking for a new practice to call home? We’re looking to add a veterinarian to our family and if you read on and feel you like what you read…we want to hear from you!
We are a busy small animal veterinary practice in the heart of chocolate town (Hershey, PA) seeking a bad-ass vet to add to our team. We have all the things you could want as a practicing small animal vet so blah blah blah. Our intangibles make us special...
we have a good team culture (buzz word alert),
we have staff that stay with us for long periods of time likely because we pay our team members well and let them do their jobs (read: so vets can be vets),
we have a limited amount of inter-staff drama (does anyone actually have zero?),
our Christmas party is the best (seriously our staff talk about it for months!),
we don't do on-call (been there done that, we're over it...and an ER center is 30 min away),
we're in the midst of renovations (so by the time you're hired we should have 2 brand spanking new exam rooms!),
we have cloud-based computerized medical records,
we practice low-stress handling and sedate (orally or injectably) for stressful procedures,
we have great clients (they bring us lots of treats so beware of a freshman 15-like syndrome upon hiring)...
but like everyone there are some client that drive us nuts yet we have a management team that is not afraid to let clients know if they're out of line and need to shape up or ship out
we like to work hard..but also have fun (because who doesn't want to have fun?)
One of our owners enjoys veterinary mission trips and has taught surgery to US veterinary students as well as foreign veterinarians so she likes to teach and mentor…read: New Grads Welcome!
Now for the more boring stuff –
we are privately owned and operated
salary is via Pro-Sal (no negative accrual) but most of our FT associates end up making 100K+ a year
we pay all the things and have all the perks (license renewals, DEA, VIN/AVMA/PVMA memberships, 100% health insurance, Simple IRA with 3% match, prof liability coverage, pet care discounts, access to dental/vision coverage, CE allowances, 3 weeks vacation)
currently our goal is to have a schedule as follows: one day a week in appts from 8-4 (with a 2 hour lunch break); two days a week in appointments from 2-8pm (with 2 half-hour breaks in there), and one day a week in surgery from 8-whenever you are done, one day a week off, one Saturday morning a month
